All of the Girls

Unreleased | 2019

“All of the Girls” is a reject from Taylor’s seventh studio album, Lover (2019). The infamous group Taylor’s Inner Circle obtained it in March 2020. Snippets leaked in February 2023.

Background and Lyrical Theme

Taylor’s Inner Circle describes the song, saying: “Starting out with a catchy drum loop and then keyboard, Taylor begins by singing about how she and the man she loves had parallel past lives. Previous relationships they were each in did not go well. However, the stars aligned and their lives intertwined. Instead of despising the girls that her man dated previously, Taylor is thankful for them. [The song] shows off Taylor’s incredible vocal range. At the end of the bridge, her vocals soar impressively high.”

On February 6, 2023, snippets of “All of the Girls” leaked online.

Lyrics (not complete)

[Verse 1]
A heart is drawn around your name
In someone’s handwriting, not mine
We’re sneaking out into town
Holding hands, just killing time

[Pre-Chorus 1]
Your past and mine are parallel lines
Stars all aligned
They intertwined
And taught you
They way you call me “baby”
Treat me like a lady
All that I can say is

[Chorus]
All of the girls you loved before

[Bridge]
[?] brought you here
I wanna teach you how forever isn’t
The girls you loved before
