Stella x Taylor Swift Fashion Collaboration | 2019-2020
Stella x Taylor Swift was a collaboration between Taylor and British fashion designer Stella McCartney, daughter of Paul McCartney. The limited-edition line included shirts, sweatshirts, and even a water bottle. Each item also came with a digital download of Taylor’s Lover (2019) album, blending fashion with music in a unique fan experience.

Featured in Vogue’s September 2019 issue, the collaboration came to life after Taylor and Stella McCartney met at one of Taylor’s London concerts:
«When I started spending more time in London, Stella and I would go on walks, have cocktails, and talk about life. So when it came time to write this album, I name checked her in one of my songs, and when I played her the album, I said, ‘Should we do something?’»
For McCartney, the opportunity to collaborate with Taylor was a no brainer: “I couldn’t believe that my name is in a Taylor Swift song (what?!?) and after Taylor played me the entire album it gave me such incredible inspiration for the collaboration and it really revolved around the music. When Taylor asked me, or even thought to come and do this with me, what I love is how we really complement each other in what we generate creatively together.”

The full collaboration was unveiled on August 22, 2019, during Taylor’s “Lover’s Lounge” livestream on YouTube. Every item in the collection was produced to Stella McCartney’s strict sustainability standards, meaning no fur or leather and environmentally conscious manufacturing practices throughout. “At Stella McCartney, we take our manufacturing and responsibility seriously,” McCartney explained. “Sustainability and not harming animals are central to how we operate as a brand. But I always balance that with a lightness of heart and a sense of humor, so people don’t feel weighed down.”
