Background and Creation

While the first perfume captured the magic of an instant connection, Wonderstruck Enchanted was designed to represent what happens when that spark deepens into something stronger and more lasting. The name itself tied directly into Taylor’s world of fairytales and romance, echoing the title of her 2010 song “Enchanted” from Speak Now. Taylor described it as follows:

«Wonderstruck Enchanted is the next chapter in the story of my Wonderstruck fragrance. Wonderstruck is about that moment when you instantly feel a connection to someone, but then there's that feeling of being completely enamored, enchanted, when you know a little more about that someone and still feel that strong connection.»

The fragrance was developed in collaboration with Elizabeth Arden, who produced all of Taylor’s perfumes. For this second release, the aim was to create a warmer, more sensual scent compared to the playful brightness of Wonderstruck. The result was a floral-ambery composition that layered lush fruits with sweet florals and deeper musky undertones. It opened with wild berries, passionfruit, and poppy before revealing a heart of sugar, peony, freesia, and champaca. The base combined creamy vanilla with white musk and soft woods, giving the perfume a more mature finish while still remaining true to Taylor’s fairytale brand.

Packaging

The packaging built on the ornate design of the first fragrance but introduced richer, more dramatic colors. The bottle was presented in a deep crimson red with gold detailing, adorned with charms in the shape of a bird, rose, feather, and crystal. These elements were meant to symbolize the unfolding of a romantic story—something both enchanted and enduring.

Photoshoot

In August 2012, Taylor returned to the Magnolia Plantation in New Orleans, Louisiana, to shoot the new advertising campaign for Wonderstruck Enchanted. She and her stylist Joseph Cassell selected a sweeping crimson gown, designed by Monique Lhuillier. Her hair stylist Jemma Muradian created an effortless look by setting her hair in soft, natural curls, evocative of true Southern beauty and lifestyle.

«I love the look of my Wonderstruck Enchanted ad! I’m wearing this amazing red gown that I loved as soon as I put it on. It’s a classic look, and that’s been my recent style obsession. Anything classic and timeless.»

Release and Reception

Wonderstruck Enchanted was released in September 2012, almost exactly one year after the debut of Wonderstruck. It was available in multiple formats, including Eau de Parfum in 50 ml and 100 ml bottles, a rollerball, a perfume crayon, a body mist, lotion, and shower gel. The campaign embraced the same fairytale aesthetic that defined Taylor’s early career, positioning the fragrance as both magical and deeply romantic.

The launch was met with enthusiasm, particularly from Taylor’s fan base, and the fragrance achieved notable commercial success. Although later discontinued, Wonderstruck Enchanted continues to be sought after by collectors and fans, who see it not only as a scent but also as a nostalgic symbol of Taylor’s early 2010s fairytale era.
