Melanie attended Southern California University and has since built a remarkable career as a backup singer, working with a wide range of musicians, including American Idol winner Taylor Hicks. Alongside Kamilah Marshall, she has also performed with Broadway star Shoshana Bean. Her versatility further shines through her collaborations with Barry Manilow, where she impressed not only with her vocal ability but also as a dancer—skills that make her an invaluable member of Taylor Swift’s team, especially since The Starlights now incorporate choreographed performances into their shows.
Joining The Starlights
Melanie first joined The Starlights in 2012 at the start of the RED era and has been a fixture on stage with Taylor ever since, appearing on “The RED Tour” (2012–2013), “The 1989 World Tour” (2015), the “reputation Stadium Tour” (2018), and most recently “The Eras Tour” (2023–2024).
Friendship with Taylor
