Taylor wrote and recorded \u201cHey Stephen\u201d for <em>Fearless<\/em> in 2008, when she was 18 years old. In the album liner notes, she included the hidden message for the song as \u201cLove and Theft\u201d, referencing a country music duo who had <a href=\"https:\/\/taylorswiftswitzerland.ch\/index.php\/tours\/tour-opening-act\/\">toured with her at the time<\/a>.
