The main lyrical motif is a word play on the phrase \u201cwe\u2019re losing him\/her\u201d generally used in emergency departments.\n<br><br>\nThe lyrics have been interpreted to be about the end of Taylor\u2019s six-year romantic relationship with English actor <a href=\"https:\/\/taylorswiftswitzerland.ch\/index.php\/wiki\/family\/joe-alwyn\/\">Joe Alwyn<\/a>, which was a subject of widespread media coverage in April 2023.
